Vtg 1970's Hand Beaded Yoke Or Net Style Hairpipe Necklace Beaded White & Turquoise Flowers

This one of a kind hand beaded necklace is from our large collection of vintage beaded jewelry.

It is an amazing work of beaded art.

It fits me as a choker.

The hairipipe beads are approx. 2 3/4" long.

On this necklace I consulted with an expert:
Known as hairpipe, these are usually made out of bone, but sometimes reproductions are made from plastic. Traditionally they were strung into large breastplates in rows, and later they were strung has choker necklaces. This is an unusual usage in this format yet is something I would expect to see at a pow wow or ceremonial dance to be sold among both native and non native people attending. A Pan Tribal necklace nature to it.

It has a simple metal hook closure.
