Vintage Sitmar Cruises T. S. S. Fairsea Money Clip 2-3/8" Silver Plate
This handsome money clip is from my parents trip to Asia in the 1980's. This was their cruise ship.
A money Clip that I think is Silver Plated (there is some light spotting on both sides and I have noticed that happens to some plated items) from SITMAR CRUISES / T.S.S. FAIRSEA. It measures about 2-3/8" long by 3/4" high and is in what I believe the original presentation holder, a blue and clear plastic case labeled BERTONI of Milano in Italy where the company was headquartered when sold. Probably dates 1988 or before. The lines changed hands in 1988 but ship names remained the same. Sitmar Cruises and Sitmar Line were common names for the Societa Italiana Trasporti Marittimi (English: Italian Society of Maritime Transport); an Italian shipping company founded by Russian émigré Alexandre Vlasov. Vlasov operated cargo and passenger services from 1937 until 1988.
