What diseases does the TruFel HCP+Ch protect against?
This includes preventing cats against four highly contagious diseases together:
When should the vaccine be given to my cat?
Begin vaccinating kittens at 6-8 weeks of age with the first dose, then boost every 3-4 weeks until they are at least 16 weeks of age. Adult cats then will have booster vaccinations as the veterinarian recommends.
How is the TruFel HCP+Ch vaccine given?
Subcutaneous injection (under the skin) is given and prescribed by a licensed veterinarian.
Does my cat require a booster shot?
Yes, after the initial series for kittens, there will be a booster one year later, followed by repeat boosters (every 1 to 3 years) as advised by your veterinarian.
Is this necessary for indoor cats?
Yes. Indoor cats can get airborne viruses or bacteria from humans or other pets. Chlamydia easily spreads in a multicat household environment. Vaccination would prevent such cats from getting sick as well as prevent the spread of infection.
Why should I have my cat vaccinated from Chlamydia among other diseases?
Chlamydia causes chronic conjunctivitis and respiratory infections, especially in kittens and cats in shelters, making it a very contagious illness. So, vaccination of your cat reduces the incidence of outbreaks and prevents the animal from suffering in the long term.
