Lid Detail: The pewter lid is a rare WMF silver-plated version, specially ordered in place of the standard inlaid pewter. It features a stunning motif of intertwined serpents around a sunburst, with the German inscription: "GOTT IST KEIN GEWACHSEN KRÄUTLEIN DER WUNDER" ("God is not a grown herb of miracles")
