Legendary noise punk icons Flipper are in no need of an introduction. Since 1979 they’ve blazed trails (and a few bridges) with an onslaught of influential recordings and live performances. Considering the depth of their influence on several of the 90s most enormous rock acts, one could easily argue that Flipper has (undoubtedly and unwittingly) drastically changed the course of popular music here on planet earth.
It’s impossible to think of Flipper without visualizing their iconic logo Sharpied across skateboards, notebooks, album covers… Kurt Cobain’s chest. Both simple and bold; their ailing, toothy aquatic trademark has become a symbol of the DIY Punk aesthetic. Here we have Thomas Hazelmyer’s linocut take on the beloved Flipper logo; screen printed on hand cut, US maple skate decks. We produced only 100 of these and all of them are signed and numbered by Thomas.
