Up for sale is this very beautiful print, "Golden Gate from the Campus," by renowned California artist, Pedro J. de Lemos. Mr. de Lemos is one of the most famous California artists and educators in the Craftsman era. He was very well-known for his color woodblock prints, but also had a very successful career as an educator, architect and painter. This piece appears to be a woodblock print, and includes a printed cover page on tracing paper over the image. This piece is entitled, "Golden Gate from the Campus," and shows view of the Golden Gate Bridge from across the bay at the University of California at Berkeley. It is signed (in the print) at lower right). I believe it dates to the early 1920s. An incredible piece.
The print is in excellent condition. No noticeable condition issues. There is some minor-to-moderate creasing on the tracing/cover page.
Print measures approx. 9.625" high x 7.375" wide. Image measures approx. 6.625 inches wide x 4.375 inches high.
