1960s Mid Cent. Finnish Modernist Brutalist Statement Belt Brass W/Bronze Finish

Unique and unusual 1960s Mid-Century Finnish Brutalist statement belt, made of brass with a bronze finish. This type of intricate, nature-inspired design is characteristic of the Brutalist or Mid-Century Modernist design movement, which embraces abstract, sculptural, and organic forms with deliberate, plain, or crude imagery. Each link features a complex, three-dimensional, "spiky" or "coral-like" surface with numerous small metal balls and flowing, wire-like tendrils.The design is composed of multiple connected rectangular segments which have an organic, abstract, and heavily textured surface consistent with the textured, organic aesthetic popular in the mid-century Brutalist movement in Scandinavia. Has a box clasp, weighs almost a pound and measures 33" long by 1 3/4" wide. In pristine condition. Stamped "Made in Finland" with no other stamping but found same design in a bracelet which was attributed to Swedish designer Owe Johansson.
